Cleeve full back Payne becomes Sooty’s first signing

Bishops Cleeve fullback Luke Payne becomes Steve Cleal’s first signing as Cinderford Town manager

Defender Payne 25 follows manager Sooty Cleal to the Causeway to return to Southern League football.

The former Slimbridge and Tuffley defender had an impressive season at Cleeve under Cleal and was tempted mid season with a move to Cirencester Town but opted to remain with the Mitres in the 19/20 null and voided season.

Payne now leaves Kayte lane to link up with manager Sooty Cleal. “I’m looking forward to get back playing Southern League football and continuing to work with Sooty. I can’t wait to get going this season with Cinderford”
