Midfielder Jack Freeman and Defender Frankie Pemberton both return to the Foresters ahead of preseason training starting next week.
ex Cirencester Town and Shortwood midfielder Freeman will be keen to showcase his ability after joining Cinderford last year following a stop start COVID hit season and manager Sooty Cleal is pleased to get him back
“Freems has played over 200 games at this level and when he’s fit and firing he is one heck of a player – we didn’t get to see it last year as he had a bit of a strange pre season for him as he left Ciren pretty late into the schedule then decided to join us the week before the season started but he has ability for sure”
The midfielder had this to say “I want to show the real me and we have a young exciting squad and we all get on so it was an easy decision and I just cant wait to get going”
Former Hereford Youth team defender Pemberton was also keen to get back to it “I dont just want to be here making the numbers up, I am determined to learn from the likes of Tash (skipper Ash Davies) and challenge for a cb spot”
Manager Cleal had this to say “Frankie is a great lad with the right attitude and he is learning all the time, he never let us down last year when he played and he will be competing for a place like everyone else and that can only be a good thing”
The third player to commit to the Town is a new face Forward Ben Brooks – the 24 year old former Yate, Larkhall and Mangotsfield forward has agreed to sign for the coming season.
“I spoke with Brooksy and liked what he had to say about his desire and appetitie to kick on again and when I spoke with people who had played with him, against him and managed him they had nothing but positives to say. To bring in a forward who’s played 5/6 seasons at this level is huge and he has always scored goals so he were exciting to get him on board”
The forward had this to say about his move to the causeway “I’m looking forward to get going at Cinderford Town and hopeful of a successful season”
That is now 10 players returning to the causeway from last year joined by new signings Ben Brooks and Harry Emmett as the squad continues to take shape
