Manager Sooty Cleal has continued to build his Cinderford Town squad as the new season fast approaches (fixtures out Friday) Four more senior players signed this week with Goalkeeper Kieran Hodges, Midfielder Owen Taylor, Attacking Player Camden Duncan and Dion Molyneux are now all committed at the causeway and Manger Cleal will add 3 members of Cinderford Town Youths league winning side Jack Meredith, Tommy Coleman and Harry Clark will form part of the Towns squad this season.

Cleal had this to say, “I’m pleased with how things are coming together with the squad and were looking to be pretty much sorted ahead of the Newport game which will allow us more time to work on gelling the boys together instead of worrying about recruitment so much”.

“One of the things we had to do was creating competition and with these signings we have done that for sure. obviously if the right fit and player is there then we will look at it but I’m pretty happy at the moment”.

Dion Molyneux opted to stay with the Town as opposed to re-joining Merthyr having played a couple of games last season. “Dion was the CB I wanted here, and he fits in well with everything we are trying to do so I’m pleased to be able to keep him”.

The defender had this to say ahead of the new season “I’m Buzzing to sign for this club and look forward to enjoying my football with a great bunch of lads. Hopefully we can really push on this season and see where it takes us and look to get amongst the playoff spots”.

Joining the Foresters and looking ahead to the season are Camden Duncan and former Newport midfielder Owen Taylor

Camden Duncan “I’m glad to be joining Cinderford, the boys are looking sharp in training and games, and I can’t wait for the season to start and be amongst the goals and assists to help the team”

Owen Taylor “I’m happy to be back playing after such a long time without football. Excited for the season to start and I’m looking forward to helping the team look to finish as high up the table as possible”.

Looking forward to joining Cinderford and competing for the number 1 jersey is Goalkeeper Kieran Hodges “I’ve really enjoyed it since coming in and am fully board with how the management team what to play, I’m determined to keep improving and excited with the challenge ahead and to see what we can achieve whilst keeping plenty of clean sheets along the way”.

Cinderford continue their pre season this Saturday, taking on Tuffley Rovers in the Severn Sport Shield final.  The final will take place at 15:30 at the Causeway with the 3rd / 4th place play off between Newent Town and Fairford kicking off at the Causeway at 12:00
