We have reached the end of another season, which sadly will see us relegated from the Southern League Division One South.
I want to start by saying a big thank you to every single supporter that has turned out in all kinds of weather, travelled to places that isn’t just down the road! You have completed the miles and without you and your support, the game is nothing.
Also, our sponsors who support and contribute so much, especially our main sponsor KW Bell Group who we are fortunate to have. We have had matchday sponsorship support and again, we appreciate each single person and business that has come together for this great club.
And finally, a massive thank you to our manager, assistant manager, team staff and every player from our first team to youth and now our ladies. Then there is the heart of our club, our volunteers, committee members, ground staff, kitchen staff, hospitality team and every one of you who put so much into a season week after week. It has not been easy, but I am proud to be associated with the club and all of you that keep this club alive.
As we all reflect on the season, we have learned so many lessons. We sadly are dropping down from Southern League Division One South, but for me, I have seen our team grow. We may not have taken all our chances and sometimes luck was not on our side, but the team are fitter, playing good football and are determined to come straight back up! When things are against you it is easy to give in, look to make changes, but I believe to trust and this is what the manager, players & staff have.
Defeat and losing hurts, but it should, and if you care about the club then it will. However, it is important to stick with your beliefs and not make rash decisions.
As we look to go into a new season, a new league, facing new teams, I ask you to believe in our club. There may be changes but it is changes to get us straight back to where we should be, back up.
Again, thank you everyone of you that has believed in our club, stuck with us in a tough season but most importantly trusted me, my committee and all the staff. Let’s look to new beginnings and the future of our club.
