Following a meeting this evening between Cinderford Town Chairman Nick Simonds and First Team Manager Alex Sykes, the Club can announce that Alex has reluctantly decided to relinquish his position as Manager for the forthcoming season.

Nick Simonds would like to put on record his appreciation for the tremendous effort Alex, and his assistant Will Morford have put in to try to retain the Club’s Southern League status, and they both leave as good friends of Cinderford Town AFC.

This decision means that the Club are now actively looking for a new Manager to ensure a successful forthcoming season in what will most probably be the Hellenic Football League – Premier Division, and a rebuild to get the Club back into the Southern League, where they enjoyed a fantastic 28 seasons unbroken membership, a major achievement for a small Gloucestershire Town.
